**Warning of Violence Against University Staff**
A group called the Serbian Academic Solidarity and Engagement Network (MASA) has warned that students and professors who protest may face violence. MASA is an independent organization.
They said in a statement that organized violence against anyone could happen next. They also criticized tabloid newspapers for attacking the Rector of Belgrade University, Vladan Djokic.
The statement from MASA said that the government is trying to silence universities and control what people can say. They are targeting professors who speak out and calling them “evil” in newspapers.
MASA called on all teachers and researchers to support each other and stand up for their rights. They said the government is replacing its previous threats with more personal attacks.
