**Temporary Commission Set Up to Investigate Regime Activities**
A special committee has been created in the Georgian Parliament. It will look into the actions of the country’s government and officials from 2003-2012.
The commission was set up with a 3-month term. However, the ruling party wants it to work for another 3 months, making it last 6 months in total.
**Who Will Be On The Commission?**
Over the next three days, a committee will decide how many people will be on the special commission and how they will be chosen. The rules say that the government must not have more members than the opposition.
A new political group called the European Socialists has been created to represent the opposition in this commission. Another group, People’s Power, also wants to join with opposition status.
**What Will The Commission Do?**
The special commission will investigate the activities of the government and officials between 2003-2012. Its main goal is to ensure that its investigation is fair and transparent, and to identify any potential threats to the country.
