**Georgia’s Political Tensions Escalate**
Giga Bokeria, the chairman of the Federalists party in Georgia, has responded to a statement made by Tea Tsulukiani on an investigative commission. The exchange highlights the deepening divisions within Georgian politics.
**Tsulukiani’s Invitation**
Tsulukiani had said that anyone who wants to “come to the commission” is welcome, without needing an invitation. Bokeria took this as a sign of disrespect and challenged Tsulukiani to engage in interactive debates during his time in parliament.
**Bokeria Refuses to Participate**
Bokeria refused to participate in what he called the “political masquerade” of the investigative commission. He stated that he does not recognize the legitimacy of the current parliament and considers the commission’s task to be an attempt to shift attention away from the crisis at hand.
**Concerns Over State Institutions**
Bokeria expressed concerns over the use of state institutions for political purposes, which he believes has led to the arrest of several individuals on trumped-up charges. He sees this as a symptom of a larger problem: the erosion of Georgia’s sovereignty and statehood.
**The Regime’s Weakness Exposed**
In Bokeria’s view, the Ivanishvili regime is weakening by its failure to summon him while arresting opponents who had nothing to do with the previous government. This, he says, is an insult to the regime’s supporters.
