**Ukraine’s Security Service Hits Crimean Bridge with Underwater Explosives**
In a bold move, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has carried out another successful operation against the heavily contested Crimean Bridge. This time, they used underwater explosives to severely damage the bridge’s supports, leaving it in a critical condition.
The operation, which had been in planning for several months, involved SBU agents placing explosive devices on the underwater supports of the bridge. At 4:44 am this morning, the first device was detonated, causing significant structural damage to the base of the bridge. According to officials, the blast is equivalent to 1,100 kg of TNT.
Fortunately, there were no reported civilian casualties during the operation. The SBU’s decision to target the Crimean Bridge has been justified by their chief, Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk, who stated that the bridge remains a legitimate military target due to its use by Russian forces for logistical support.
**A Symbol of Occupation**
The Crimean Bridge has long been seen as a symbol of Russia’s occupation of Crimea. By targeting it with underwater explosives, the SBU is sending a clear message that any manifestation of occupation will face consequences. As Malyuk noted, “Crimea is Ukraine, and any tool or symbol of occupation will face our tough response.”
**A Repeat Offense**
This is not the first time the SBU has targeted the Crimean Bridge. In 2022 and 2023, they carried out successful operations against the structure, causing significant damage on both occasions. Today’s operation marks their third strike against the bridge, highlighting their determination to disrupt Russian supply lines in the region.
**A Critical Condition**
The aftermath of today’s blast has left the Crimean Bridge in a critical condition, with preliminary assessments suggesting that it may not be operational for some time. The impact of this on Russian military operations in the region remains to be seen.
