**Russian Attacks on Ukraine Kill at Least 7 Civilians and Injure Many Others**
Over the past day, Russian attacks on Ukraine have resulted in significant civilian casualties. According to regional authorities, at least seven civilians were killed and 42 others were injured. The attacks also caused damage to infrastructure and residential areas.
**Ukrainian Air Force Downes Majority of Drone Attacks**
In a separate development, Ukrainian forces successfully downed the majority of Russian drones launched overnight. Out of the 112 drones, including Shahed-type attack drones, only 60 managed to reach their targets. Fifteen drones were either intercepted by electronic warfare or disappeared from radars without causing any damage.
**Tactics Used by Russia**
It’s worth noting that Russia often uses decoy drones alongside real ones to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defense systems. These decoys are usually designed to disappear from radar before reaching their targets, making it difficult for Ukrainian forces to distinguish between real and fake drones.
**Regional Breakdown of Attacks**
Odesa Oblast Governor Oleh Kiper reported that Russian forces attacked Odesa with drones, injuring at least five people. The attack set a food warehouse on fire and damaged residential buildings and cars.
In Kharkiv Oblast, a Russian attack on the village of Kivsharivka killed two women aged 62 and 64. A 31-year-old man was also killed in a separate attack on Balakliia, while a 38-year-old man was injured.
The town of Kupiansk was struck by another Russian attack, injuring four women and a 59-year-old man. Russian drone and missile attacks on Sumy Oblast also injured four people.
**Governors Report Attacks in Their Respective Regions**
In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Governor Ivan Fedorov reported that Russian first-person-view (FPV) drones struck a State Emergency Service building and service vehicles, injuring 12 emergency workers.
Three people were killed in Kramatorsk and Yablunivka in Donetsk Oblast, while two other people suffered injuries in the region over the past day.
In Kherson Oblast, Russian forces targeted 35 settlements, including the regional center of Kherson. One person was killed, and 13 others, including a child, were injured.
