**Georgia’s Opposition Leaders Speak Out Against Ivanishvili’s Regime**
In a bold statement, Paata Manjgaladze, one of the leaders of the Strategy Builder, has described Bidzina Ivanishvili’s regime as “a monster with glass legs that can be broken at any time.” This comment comes in response to the recent arrest of Nika Melia, a prominent opposition leader.
Manjgaladze believes that Ivanishvili is hiding and scared, which is why he is trying to silence opposition leaders by arresting them and isolating them from political processes. According to him, Ivanishvili’s main targets are Giorgi Vashadze, Zura Japaridze, Nika Gvaramia, Mamuka Khazaradze, and Melia.
**A Message from the US**
Regarding Senator Steve Daines’ visit to Georgia and the attempt to reset US-Georgia relations, Manjgaladze sees it as a message from the United States that more democracy, free elections, and an end to violence against political leaders are needed. As he put it, “America is still the flagship of democracy in the world.” The main demand of the opposition, he emphasized, is new elections and the release of detainees.
**A Contrast in Values**
In a stark contrast to Ivanishvili’s approach, Manjgaladze highlighted that the US is demanding more democracy, free elections, and an end to violence against political leaders. This sends a clear message that the Georgian government must prioritize the people’s interests over their own power and control.
