Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced earlier that Moscow is willing to hold new peace talks with Ukraine in Istanbul on June 2. Russia claims it will present a memorandum outlining the “root causes” of the conflict, which many see as an attempt to justify its invasion of Ukraine.
