**US State Department Slams Russia Over Ukraine War**
In a recent press briefing, US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce had some stern words for Russia. She told them to focus less on President Donald Trump’s social media posts and more on ending the war in Ukraine.
Bruce was referring to Trump’s comments on Truth Social, where he called Russian President Vladimir Putin “crazy” and warned him that he was “playing with fire”. These comments were made after Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine over the weekend, killing at least 12 people.
The Kremlin responded by calling Trump’s statements an example of “emotional overload”. However, Bruce said that Trump’s posts were a clear statement of his opinion on Russia’s attacks on Ukraine. She encouraged Russia to take him seriously and focus on stopping the war in Ukraine.
**Russia’s War on Ukraine**
Over the weekend, Russia launched its largest aerial assault on Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war in 2022. They fired more than 600 drones and dozens of missiles across Ukraine. On May 26 alone, they reportedly launched 355 Shahed-type attack drones and decoys – the largest drone attack of the war.
Despite Trump’s public criticism of Putin, there have been no concrete policy changes to apply more pressure on Russia. Meanwhile, US lawmakers are pushing for tougher action on Russia and are prepared to pass a bipartisan sanctions bill that has yet to be endorsed by Trump.
**What’s Next?**
The situation in Ukraine remains tense, with both sides exchanging blows. The international community is watching closely as the conflict escalates. Will Russia take heed of Bruce’s comments and focus on ending the war, or will they continue to deny any wrongdoing? Only time will tell.
