**Russian Rocket Plant Hit by Ukrainian Drone for Third Time This Month**
A drone strike has targeted the Russian rocket plant NPO Splav in Tula, Russia, marking the third attack on the facility this month. The plant, which produces rockets and heavy artillery systems, was previously hit on April 7 and again on May 7.
**Same Workshop Hit Twice Before**
The latest drone attack, which occurred overnight on May 26, appears to have targeted the same workshop that was struck in a prior attack on April 7. According to reports, a woman in a video shared by Ukrainian Telegram channels Supernova+ and Exilenova+ can be heard saying “It flies again” as a drone approaches the plant, suggesting that the facility has been attacked multiple times.
**Alternative Target Possible**
However, some analysts suggest that the real target of the drone attack may not have been the NPO Splav plant at all. Supernova+ published an alternative geolocation analysis suggesting that the military storage base (military unit 21317) or the 1060th Central Material and Technical Supply Base (military unit 55443-16) may have been hit instead.
**Unknown Extent of Damage**
The extent of the damage caused by the drone attack remains unknown. Russian news Telegram channel Astra reported that NASA satellites did not detect fires in the Splav area, but this report is likely irrelevant as NASA FIRMS had previously recorded thermal anomalies at the plant due to industrial activity.
**Ukrainian Air Campaign Against Russia**
The Ukrainian military has been conducting an air campaign against Russian strategic targets such as ammunition depots, command centers, and military factories. The attack on NPO Splav is just one example of this ongoing effort to disrupt Russian military capabilities.
