**Israel’s Netanyahu Slams Western Leaders Over Gaza Conflict**
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a scathing attack on British, French, and Canadian leaders, accusing them of supporting “mass murderers” in Hamas. In a video posted to the social media platform X, Netanyahu said that these leaders want Israel to “stand down” and accept the existence of Hamas’s military forces.
This is not the first time Netanyahu has criticized Western leaders over their response to the Gaza conflict. Earlier this week, he accused British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer of wanting Israel to “accept that Hamas’s army of mass murderers will survive”. Netanyahu also targeted French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian leader Mark Carney, saying they were on the wrong side of justice and humanity.
The Israeli government has faced intense criticism for its military campaign in Gaza, which was launched in response to Hamas’s cross-border attacks. The conflict has resulted in a devastating toll, with at least 53,762 deaths, including 16,500 child victims, reported by the territory’s Hamas-run Health Ministry since October 2023.
Netanyahu’s comments have sparked a heated debate among world leaders, with some criticizing his tone as inflammatory and divisive. However, others have rallied behind him, accusing Western leaders of being too soft on Hamas. This includes Israeli Minister Amichai Chkli, who said that Sir Keir and other leaders had “emboldened the forces of terror”.
Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert also weighed in on the controversy, calling Netanyahu’s government a “gang” of thugs. In an interview with the BBC, he accused Netanyahu of being at the head of a terrorist gang running the state of Israel.
