**Aid Reaches Gaza After 11-Week Blockade**
The Israeli blockade on Gaza has been lifted, and aid is finally reaching the region. The BBC’s Wyre Davies visited the Kerem Shalom crossing, which is controlled by Israel, to witness the aid being inspected before being transferred into Gaza.
On trucks from Israel, the aid is taken off and inspected, before being loaded onto lorries coming from Gaza. Most of the aid is flour, which will be used by the UN’s World Food Programme to meet the minimum food needs for the 2.1 million people in Gaza.
**Explosion Rocks Iran Port**
In a separate incident, at least four people have been killed and 500 injured in an explosion at the Bandar Abbas port in Iran. The moment the explosion occurred has been captured on video, showing the devastating impact on the area.
**Israel’s Ground Operation Resumes**
Meanwhile, Israel has resumed airstrikes on Gaza, sending more troops into the region after a pause in military operations. At least 400 people have been killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
The grandson of Oded Lifschitz, who was killed in Gaza and whose body returned to Israel last week, spoke to the BBC about his grandfather’s death. “It’s not just my grandfather,” he said. “There are many other families who have lost loved ones in this conflict.”
**Prisoners Freed in Exchange for Israeli Hostages**
In a rare gesture of goodwill, around 180 Palestinian prisoners were released by Israel in exchange for three Israeli hostages. The prisoners were greeted with cheers and applause as they arrived in Ramallah.
