**Journalist Attacked at EU-Organized Event, EU Delegation Fails to React**
A disturbing incident occurred during the Europe Day events organized by Pawel Herczyński in Georgia. A journalist from Imedi was attacked, and what’s even more shocking is that the EU Delegation, which organized the event, has remained silent.
This silence has sparked outrage among many, including Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament. In a statement to journalists, he expressed his disgust at the situation, saying it was “appalling” and even more so because there had been no reaction from the EU Delegation. He emphasized that when individuals funded by the EU budget are involved in violence, it is especially disturbing.
**EU Ambassador’s Role Raises Questions**
Papuashvili also criticized Pawel Herczyński, the organizer of the event, for playing the role of a prosecutor and presenting himself as an inquisitor of the Georgian people and government. He questioned whether this behavior was fitting for an ambassador accredited to represent the European Union.
The attack on the journalist and the lack of response from the EU Delegation have raised serious concerns about the safety of journalists and the effectiveness of the EU’s presence in Georgia. As Papuashvili pointed out, it is “disgusting” that a journalist was attacked during an event celebrating Europe Day, and even more so because there has been no reaction.
