**Georgia’s Foreign Minister Meeting Snub: A Sign of the Ivanishvili Regime’s Isolationist Intentions**
According to Tina Bokuchava, Chairperson of the Unity National Movement, Georgia’s non-invitation to the informal meeting of foreign ministers from candidate countries in Warsaw is a clear indication that the current government, led by Bidzina Ivanishvili, is deliberately trying to isolate Georgia from the international community.
In a statement, Bokuchava accused the Ivanishvili regime of choosing “friends” that are not in Georgia’s best interests. She cited China, Iran (which is hostile to America), and Putin’s Russia as examples of countries with which Georgia has poor relations, particularly given Russia’s occupation of Georgian territories. “These are not Georgia’s friends,” she said.
Bokuchava also expressed disappointment at the lack of progress on Georgia’s bid to join the European Union. She claimed that under a democratic government, Georgia would have already opened negotiations on EU membership and would be benefiting from significant European investments. Instead, she believes that the current regime is prioritizing relations with countries that do not share Georgia’s values.
**Visa-Free Regime Cancellation: A Sign of Growing Tensions**
In related news, Bokuchava also spoke out against the Estonian Foreign Ministry’s decision to cancel the visa-free regime for holders of Georgian diplomatic passports. She argued that this was a natural consequence of the EU’s values-based approach to granting privileges to non-member countries.
According to Bokuchava, the EU grants visa-free travel and other privileges based on shared values such as democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. The current regime in Georgia, she claimed, has been engaged in repressive activities against its own people at Russia’s behest, which has led to a revision of these privileges.
**A Call to Action: Defeat the Ivanishvili Regime**
Bokuchava’s statements highlight the deepening divisions within Georgian society over the country’s foreign policy and EU aspirations. She called on Georgians to take action against the current regime, which she believes is holding back the country’s progress and isolating it from the international community.
In her words, “to maintain this important privilege [visa-free travel] and open negotiations on accession to the EU… we must expel, defeat, and get rid of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s traitorous Russian, anti-national, anti-European government.”
As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the Georgian people will respond to Bokuchava’s call to action. One thing is certain, however: the stakes are high, and the future of Georgia’s international relations hangs in the balance.
