**US House of Representatives Passes Bipartisan Bill, Slapping Down Georgia’s Ruling Party**

The Georgian Dream coalition had claimed that January 20 would be the day when everything would fall into place as promised by Donald Trump. However, three months have passed since then, and what we see is a bipartisan bill introduced in the US House of Representatives. This development has left many in Georgia wondering if they’ve been misled.

For Georgia leader Ana Buchukuri believes that this recent move by the US Congress is a significant blow to Georgian Dream’s authority. “This is a bipartisan approach to the damage that Georgian Dream has been causing for so many years,” she said on Palitra News’ program Day’s Newsroom. The MEGOBARI Act, as it’s known, has received full support from 349 congressmen, with only 42 voting against it.

According to Buchukuri, this level of bipartisan support sends a strong message about the US government’s views on Georgia. “The lower chamber of our strategic ally’s Congress adopting such a strict legislative act is more than just a legal document; it’s an important political statement,” she noted. For her, this move represents a slap in the face for Georgian Dream, who had promised much but delivered little.

**Georgian Dream’s Failure to Deliver**

Buchukuri expressed disappointment and frustration at how the ruling party had turned away allies like the US by spreading propaganda and lies about Trump’s return. “Their incompetence and harmful actions have brought us to this result,” she said. This betrayal has led to Georgia being isolated from its strategic partners, which will likely have a ripple effect in Europe as well.

The impact of the MEGOBARI Act is expected to be felt not just in the US but also across Europe, particularly in France and Germany. However, with internal political processes underway in Germany, it may take some time before they “get around” to Georgia. Buchukuri expressed hope that this recent development will have a positive impact on Georgia’s relations with its European allies.

**Other Developments**

As for other topics, including the Resistance Platform and ongoing consultations with Salome Zurabishvili, Buchukuri stated that For Georgia does not plan to participate in the organizational part of the event scheduled for May 26. However, they will celebrate Independence Day on May 26, as it’s an important national holiday.

For Georgia has been cooperating with Salome Zurabishvili on two key issues: releasing political prisoners and preserving a European perspective, as well as calling new elections. While they may not be participating in the organizational part of the event, they are open to cooperation on these matters.
