**Georgia’s Exports on the Rise: 5.7% Increase in First Quarter of 2025**

The first quarter of 2025 has seen a significant boost in Georgia’s exports, with the volume of goods shipped out of the country reaching $1.401.2 billion USD. This represents a 5.7% increase compared to the same period last year, according to data from Geostat.

While this is good news for Georgia’s economy, it’s worth noting that not all exports are created equal. Domestic exports – which exclude re-exports and only count goods manufactured or produced in Georgia – accounted for just 45.8% of total exports. This figure actually decreased by 0.1% compared to the same period last year, amounting to $641.8 million USD.

**The Big Three: Russia, Turkey, and China Dominate Georgia’s Export Market**

So who are Georgia’s biggest export partners? According to Geostat, the top ten countries accounted for a significant share of domestic exports, with 67.4% of all goods shipped out of the country going to these nations. The largest three markets were:

1. Russia: $122 million USD
2. Turkey: $66.9 million USD
3. China: $47.5 million USD

These numbers are a reflection of Georgia’s trade relationships and economic ties with its neighbors and larger global partners. While there is room for growth in domestic exports, the overall increase in export volumes is a positive sign for the country’s economy.
