**Ukraine Faces Pressure to Respond to US Proposals on Ending War with Russia**
The United States has proposed a deal to end the war in Ukraine, which includes the possibility of Washington recognizing Moscow’s annexation of Crimea and barring Ukraine from joining NATO. The proposals were made by senior Trump administration officials during a confidential meeting with Ukrainian and European counterparts in Paris last week.
According to Western officials, the US team presented several options for a peace deal, including:
* Recognizing Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea
* Barring Ukraine from joining NATO
* Establishing a neutral zone around the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant
* Granting the US control over the power plant
The Ukrainian delegation in Paris included top officials, including Andriy Yermak, chief of staff to President Volodymyr Zelensky. The US team also included Special Envoy Keith Kellogg and Steve Witkoff, who is expected to travel to Moscow.
Ukraine has previously rejected restrictions on joining international alliances and organizations, including NATO and the EU, as part of a potential peace deal. The Ukrainian delegation in Paris included top officials, including Andriy Yermak, chief of staff to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
