**Serbian Students and Citizens Continue to Protest Outside State TV Headquarters**
For the fourth consecutive day, students and citizens have been blocking access to the headquarters of Serbia’s state television (RTS) in downtown Belgrade. The protest began on Monday evening and has continued throughout the week, with demonstrators expressing their dissatisfaction with the public broadcaster’s reporting.
The protesters are demanding that a new public call be issued for the appointment of members to the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) Council, or that the public broadcaster is shut down altogether. They have been blocking access to RTS buildings in Belgrade since Monday evening and have shown no signs of backing down.
On Friday, students from Novi Pazar announced that they would join the protest throughout the Easter holiday weekend, showing their support for their fellow students in Belgrade who have been blocking the public broadcaster for four days. The protesters have been peaceful, with a moment of silence observed on Friday to remember the victims of the November 1, 2024 tragedy in Novi Sad.
**A Day of Peaceful Protest**
On Good Friday, the students and citizens participating in the blockade decided not to make any noise or music outside the RTS headquarters. However, they did invite everyone to join them in dyeing Easter eggs, a traditional Serbian holiday activity.
The presence of police officers from the Belgrade Police Department and traffic police has ensured that the protest remains peaceful and safe for all participants. The protesters have been well-organized and have maintained a respectful attitude towards the authorities.
**A Message from Novi Pazar**
Students from the State University of Novi Pazar issued a statement expressing their solidarity with their fellow students in Belgrade. “We’ve always represented Novi Pazar in the best possible light, and now we’ll prove it again!” they said, inviting others to join them outside the RTS headquarters.
