**Protests Erupt Outside Vojvodina Assembly Building**

A tense atmosphere has gripped the streets outside the Vojvodina Assembly building in Novi Sad, Serbia. Police officers and gendarmerie troopers have been deployed around the building to maintain order.

The protesters, consisting of students and citizens, are demanding action from the authorities over several key issues. Their chants can be heard echoing through the streets, with slogans like “Resignations, then jail!” being repeatedly shouted. Some protesters have also taken a more creative approach, throwing eggs at the Assembly building.

**Opposition Members Attend Session**

Despite the protests outside, the session of the provincial parliament is proceeding as scheduled. Opposition members have arrived at the session carrying banners and signs, which has added to the tense atmosphere.

According to eyewitnesses, a fence has been erected in front of the Assembly building to restrict access to officials and accredited journalists only. This move seems to be an attempt by the authorities to prevent further confrontations between protesters and police officers.

**Students Demand Action Over Novi Sad Tragedy**

One student, Andjela Elez from the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Sciences, spoke to N1 about the protests. She expressed frustration that the students’ concerns over the November 1 train station canopy collapse, which claimed 16 lives, have not been addressed in five months.

Elez urged the authorities to take their demands seriously and called for action to be taken. “Once again, we’re not on the agenda,” she said. “Five months since 16 people were killed. We urge the authorities to take this seriously—thank you.”

**Assembly Speaker Promises Normal Working Rhythm**

The Assembly speaker, Balint Juhas, has promised that a normal working rhythm for the Assembly will be reestablished in the coming period. He made these comments during his first public appearance since the Novi Sad tragedy.

It remains to be seen how this promise will be kept, especially given the ongoing protests outside the Assembly building.
