**Russian Attacks on Ukraine Leave 5 Dead, 68 Injured**
The past day has been marked by intense Russian attacks across Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of at least five people and injuring 68 others. The attacks were carried out using a variety of methods, including drones, ballistic missiles, and anti-aircraft guided missiles.
According to reports from regional officials, Russia launched a total of 75 drones overnight, including Shahed-type drones, as well as two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and three S-300/400 anti-aircraft guided missiles. Ukraine’s air defenses were able to intercept 25 of the drones, while another 30 vanished from radars – likely deployed as decoys to overwhelm Ukrainian air defense systems.
The assault was repelled by a combination of Ukraine’s electronic warfare units, aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, and mobile fire groups. Despite this, several areas of Ukraine were hit hard by the attacks.
**Dnipro Hit Hard**
In Dnipro, a drone strike killed three people, including a child, and injured 30 others. The attack also damaged a dozen apartment buildings, numerous houses, a school, a dormitory, and a gymnasium. Governor Serhii Lysak reported that five of the injured are children.
**Other Areas Affected**
In Kherson Oblast, one person was killed and 15 others wounded, including a child. Russian forces targeted residential areas and critical infrastructure in the region.
In Kharkiv Oblast, 16 people were injured by Russian attacks, with Governor Oleh Syniehubov reporting that residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were damaged across multiple communities.
In Donetsk Oblast, a resident of Pokrovsk was killed, and six others were injured. Governor Vadym Filashkin reported the attack in his region.
**Widespread Attacks Continue**
The widespread attacks come amid continued Russian rejection of a full ceasefire agreement and follow recent intensification of strikes on civilian areas across Ukraine. In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, a 55-year-old man was injured, and Russian forces carried out 350 strikes on 15 settlements during the day.
This latest wave of attacks is a stark reminder of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the need for a sustained international effort to bring peace to the region.
