**MEP Warns of Georgian Regime’s Authoritarian Tendencies**
A member of the European Parliament, Helmut Brandstätter, has expressed concern about Georgia’s democratic situation. He wrote on his social media page that the country is heading towards authoritarianism.
Georgia is a candidate for EU membership. However, its current government is causing worry among democracy supporters. Brandstätter said it’s unacceptable to lock up and abuse political opponents in a democratic society.
