Paata Manjgaladze : We won’t be commentators on “Georgian Dream” agenda, but we will create our agenda. As for their assessment, “Zurabishvili, and the opposition, are zero,” “Dream,” wrote 48% of the votes for us in the elections. So how are we zero then?

Georgia’s Protests Continue Despite Fines

People in Georgia are still attending protests, despite the risk of being fined 5,000 GEL. This is a deliberate move by the government, says Paata Manjgaladze, Secretary-General of “Strategy Agmashenebeli”.

The recent protest on March 22 showed that the opposition movement has not weakened. Manjgaladze expects even more people to attend the next protest on March 31.

This protest will be a kind of referendum, with Georgians being asked if they want freedom and Europe or an oppressive regime led by Ivanishvili’s “Georgian Dream”.

The government’s strategy is to isolate Georgia internationally. Manjgaladze says that this goal has been partially achieved, but there is still more work to be done.

He also commented on the need for the opposition to stop being divided and create a common agenda for the country. This would allow Georgians to take control of their own future and not follow the government’s agenda.

There are two paths being fought over in Georgia: one led by “Georgian Dream” that is weak, vulnerable, and could make it easy for Russia to attack; and another path with European and American allies, which would be a guarantee for development and protection.

Manjgaladze believes that the government’s actions are increasing the risk of war, as Georgia becomes weaker without allies. He says that this crisis situation must be addressed by all those who care about Georgia.

Regarding claims from “Georgian Dream” members that Salome Zurabishvili and the opposition are zero in the elections, Manjgaladze replied that they received 48% of the vote, so how can they be considered zero?
