**NGOs and Media Fear Retaliation Under New Law**

A new law in the US aims to stop foreign agents from influencing American politics. But some people are worried that it will also silence non-government organizations (NGOs) and journalists.

Nino Lomjaria, a lawyer, says the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) should not apply to NGOs and media outlets. If they do have to register, she warns, it could lead to a “Russian Law 3”.

**Why are NGOs and media worried?**
