**Russia’s Saratov and Engels Hit by Drone Attack**

The cities of Saratov and Engels in Russia were targeted in a major drone attack overnight on March 20. According to Governor Roman Busargin, the attack was the heaviest against the region since the start of the full-scale war.

**Explosions Reported Across Region**

Residents reported hearing an air raid alert followed by several explosions in the area. At least four blasts were heard at around 4 a.m. local time. The cities of Engels and Saratov are located near the Engels-2 military airbase, which is used for aerial strikes on Ukraine.

**Fire Erupts Near Airbase**

A fire broke out near the airbase, according to Governor Busargin. Residents living nearby are being evacuated. There were also reports of a fire at a local oil depot in Engels.

**Two Civilians Injured**

Two civilians were injured in the attack, and around 30 houses were damaged in Engels. Windows were also broken at a hospital, two kindergartens, and a school in the city.

**Russian Air Defenses Shoot Down Drones**

Russia’s air defenses shot down 132 Ukrainian drones overnight, including 54 over Saratov Oblast. The Ukrainian military has not commented on the claims.
