Prosecutors in Belgrade Say Sonic Weapon Was Not Used at Protest

Prosecutors in Belgrade said on Tuesday that a sonic weapon, known as a sound cannon, was not used during a protest on March 15. The protesters were students who gathered in central Belgrade.

The First Public Prosecution office collected reports from security units and guards who provided protection for the protesters. They also looked at videos and social media posts that showed people panicking due to a strong, unusual sound.

Prosecutors asked different government ministries and agencies for information about the incident. These included the Internal Affairs Ministry, the Defense Ministry, the Health Care Ministry, and the BIA security agency.
