**Serbian Minister Denies Use of Sonic Weapon**
A minister in Serbia has denied that the police used a sonic weapon to disperse protesters in Belgrade. Internal Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic told a committee in parliament that no illegal weapons were used at the protest on March 15.
**What Was Used?**
The minister said that the police had an LRAD100X, which he claims was bought for communication purposes and not for causing harm. He added that this weapon is classified as an acoustic device that can be used for warning or dispersing crowds. However, Dacic denied that it was ever used to cause sonic waves.
**Police Defend Their Actions**
Dacic also said that the police did not hand over the LRAD100X to anyone else and that its use would require a special order from the Director of Police. He argued that it would be impossible for the police to use an illegal weapon without following proper procedures.
**Anti-Drone Gun Used by Special Forces**
Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic told the committee that the special forces unit, which provides security for the president and his offices, used an anti-drone gun during the protest. This was the only other device mentioned as being used by the police.
