**Journalists Blocked at Serbian Border**
Tonino Picula, a member of the European Parliament, spoke out against the Serbian authorities on Saturday. They had stopped some journalists, including those from Croatia, from entering the country.
The journalists were not allowed to enter because they were considered a security risk ahead of a large protest against President Aleksandar Vucic.
**A Message for Serbia**
MEP Picula said that this was an undemocratic act by the Serbian authorities. He warned that trying to stop the truth from being shared with the world is not democratic.
He said, “Journalists may be stopped at the border, but the truth is hard to stop at the border.”

According to Picula, this event was just one example of a long-standing practice by President Vucic’s regime. The regime systematically prevents journalists in Serbia from reporting the truth about it.
**Protests Continue**
Picula also talked about today’s protest in Belgrade. He said that it is unclear whether this is a stage or culmination of the protests.
He added, “The escalation of the conflict itself is not in the interest of either the protesters or the government.”
