**Tougher Penalties for Drug Crimes in Georgia**
The Georgian government is planning to make it harder for people to get away with drug crimes. A new bill, called the “Georgian Dream” bill, proposes stricter penalties for anyone involved in making, selling, or using illegal drugs.
**Increased Jail Time**
Under this bill, if you’re caught making, transporting, or selling drugs, you could face longer jail sentences. The law also makes it a separate crime to make or sell certain types of illegal substances, like marijuana or new psychoactive substances.
**New Laws Added to the Criminal Code**
The bill proposes adding several new articles to Georgia’s Criminal Code. One article would punish people for trying to avoid a test that shows how a drug affects their body. If you’re already in trouble with the law and try to dodge this test, you could face fines or community service.
**Who Supports the Bill?**
A group of Georgian parliament members, including Archil Gorduladze and Tengiz Sharmanashvili, support this bill. They believe it’s necessary to make drug laws stricter in order to protect society.
