According to Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, security assistance from the US is now being implemented. “I have confirmation that security assistance from the U.S. has been resumed,” he said on Facebook. This announcement follows a meeting in Jeddah where US and Ukrainian delegations discussed strained relations.
**Talks Lead to Ceasefire Agreement**
As part of the agreement, Ukraine has agreed to accept Washington’s proposal for an immediate 30-day ceasefire. However, this would only happen if Russia agrees to the terms and implements them simultaneously. If Russia refuses, the ceasefire will not go ahead.
Tensions between Ukraine and the US had risen after a heated meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump in Washington. The joint statement issued after the Jeddah meeting reaffirmed Ukraine’s support for the US-proposed ceasefire.
**Ukraine Appreciates Constructive Dialogue**
President Zelensky expressed gratitude to President Trump for the constructive nature of the dialogue between their teams. “The American side understands our arguments and accepts our proposals,” he said.
