**Oil Shipments Halted Due to Ukraine’s Attack, Hungary Says**
Hungary’s oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline from Russia have been halted due to a Ukrainian drone attack on a metering station in Russian territory.
The Druzhba pipeline is one of the world’s largest, carrying 2 million barrels of oil per day. It is a critical conduit for oil from Russian fields to European refineries. Hungary imports most of its crude oil via this pipeline.
Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Facebook that the attack had suspended oil shipments to Hungary. He called on Ukraine to refrain from attacking energy infrastructure supplying Hungary, saying it was a matter of sovereignty.

The EU has largely phased out Russian oil imports following Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. However, certain Central European countries have exemptions to continue importing Russian oil via the Druzhba pipeline.
The attack by Ukrainian forces came as Ukrainian and US officials were set to meet in Saudi Arabia to discuss ending Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.
