MP Delivers Aid to Ukraine
Cameron Thomas, the MP for Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire, has returned from a trip to Ukraine. He went there to deliver aid to areas near the front line.
Mr. Thomas is a former RAF officer who was elected last year. This was his first visit to Ukraine. He said it was an emotional experience.
The UK and other countries are trying to negotiate peace with Russia, but talks have become difficult. Mr. Thomas visited the capital city of Kiev on the third anniversary of the war.
He delivered medical aid to areas near the front line in a convoy of 10 trucks. The aid included treatment for children with cancer.
Mr. Thomas said that when Russia bombs hospitals, the need for aid becomes greater. He also said that Russia is using drones to target civilians.
Talking to BBC Radio Gloucestershire, Mr. Thomas said he was impressed by the bravery and determination of the Ukrainian people. They are proud of the support they have received from Britain and other countries.
