**US Sends Message to Georgia: No Tolerance for Autocratic Regimes**
The US government is sending a clear message to Georgia that it will not tolerate autocratic regimes. This was stated by Petre Tsiskarishvili, Secretary General of the Unity National Movement.
Tsiskarishvili said that the MEGOBARI Act is a concrete measure against those who undermine democracy. He believes that this signal from Washington means that no change in direction towards democratic values will occur. The Ivanishvili regime had been hoping for US tolerance of autocratic regimes, but this will not happen.
**US Lawmakers Take Action**
The MEGOBARI Act was introduced to the US House of Representatives by Congressmen Joe Wilson, Steve Cohen, Richard Hudson, and Mark Weiss. The Senate version of the bill is expected to be considered by the Foreign Relations Committee early next week.

Tsiskarishvili emphasized that it is now up to the Georgian society to decide whether a government like Ivanishvili’s is acceptable. He believes that this decision will have important consequences for the country.
