**Employee Fired from Tbilisi City Hall**
Anna Komladze, a worker at the Tbilisi City Hall, was let go on March 5. She says it’s because of her politics.
**Why Was She Fired?**
Komladze was fired due to “reorganization” as of March 15. But she thinks it’s because she spoke out against the government. She had signed a petition in support of Georgia joining the EU, and made social media posts criticizing the government’s actions.
**Government Responds**
A TV channel owned by the ruling party said Komladze was fired because she supported the opposition. The channel’s owner has said he wants to keep the opposition from coming back to power.
**What Do Others Say?**
Some people think the government is trying to silence those who disagree with them. A leader of the opposition group Freedom Square said that the government openly declares people with different opinions as enemies.
**Background**
Hundreds of officials have distanced themselves from the government’s decision to leave the EU accession process. The government has also changed a law so that it can fire civil servants without reason.
