**Clashes Erupt Outside Belgrade City Assembly**
A tense situation unfolded outside the Belgrade City Assembly building on Thursday. Private security personnel and citizens clashed as a session of the assembly was set to begin.
The opposition councilors had planned to disrupt the meeting by waving Serbian flags and singing the national anthem. However, the ruling coalition councilors went ahead with their agenda, despite the chaos outside.
**Security and Police Intervene**
As the scuffle escalated, security personnel were pelted with red paint and eggs. The crowd chanted slogans like “Thieves!” and “Pump it up!”. The police eventually arrived on the scene, detaining a man suspected of being involved in the initial altercation.

Branko Miljus from the opposition Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP) condemned the government’s actions. He accused them of “playing dumb” and undermining institutions across Serbia.
“We will not back down,” Miljus said. “If this system survives, Serbia itself will not survive.”
