According to Yermak, the two sides discussed further steps towards a just and lasting peace. They also exchanged views on security issues and coordinated positions within the framework of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the United States.
**Zelensky Announces Progress in Negotiations**
President Zelensky announced that the first results of ongoing negotiations would be announced next week. He said that diplomatic events were developing quickly, and that the Ukrainian and U.S. teams had started working on a meeting. There is a positive movement towards peace talks.
**Dispute Between Ukraine and US**
The statements come amid rising tensions between Kyiv and Washington following a clash in the Oval Office exchange on Feb. 28 between Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump. The dispute led to the collapse of a bilateral deal on Ukraine’s natural resources, after which the U.S. president paused all military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

Ukraine and Europe are working on a plan for the first steps towards a just and sustainable peace as Russia’s full-scale invasion enters its fourth year. President Zelensky will take part in a special meeting of the European Council on March 6.
