**Ukraine Wants to Monitor Air and Sea in Any Future Peace Deal**
The Ukrainian government is discussing with Western allies how a potential peacekeeping force could monitor the country’s air and sea space. This was stated by Heorhii Tykhyi, Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
Tykhyi said that if Western partners are willing to talk about deploying forces to ensure peace and security in Ukraine, then monitoring the sky could also be possible. The discussion comes as a multinational peacekeeping force has been proposed as a way to guarantee Ukraine’s security in case of a ceasefire.
**Strengthening Security in the Black Sea**
Tykhyi emphasized the importance of strengthening security in the Black Sea, given Russia’s continued threats to freedom of navigation. He said that this issue is already being discussed with Western partners and should be further addressed at an upcoming EU summit.
**International Support for Peacekeeping**
Several countries have expressed support for a European-led peacekeeping force, including France, the UK, and others. However, European nations have yet to reach a consensus on the matter.
The Washington Post reported that up to 30,000 European troops could be sent to Ukraine as part of a ceasefire monitoring mission. This comes amid renewed engagement between the US and Russia, including talks on ending the war in Ukraine and potentially reopening embassies in Washington and Moscow.
