**Israel and Hamas Agree on Hostage Release**
A deal has been made to release six hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. The agreement was reached after days of tension between Israel and Hamas.
**Hostages Released**
The released hostages include Ohad Yahalomi, 50, and his 12-year-old son Eitan. They were abducted from Nir Oz in November. In another development, the IDF informed a family that an elderly man, Shlomo Mansour, was killed by Hamas on October 7, 2023.
**Ceasefire Deal**
The hostage release is part of the current phase of the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. The truce expires on Saturday, and it’s unclear if it will be extended or move to the next phase. In phase two, all remaining living hostages in Gaza would be released in exchange for more Palestinian prisoners.
**Previous Delay**
Israel had delayed releasing over 600 Palestinian prisoners who were supposed to be freed last Saturday. The delay was due to concerns about Hamas’s treatment of Israeli hostages.
