Russian Attacks on Ukraine Kill 5, Injure 36 Over Past Day
Russia’s attacks on Ukraine have resulted in the deaths of five civilians and injuries to 36 others over the past day. Regional authorities reported this on February 26.
The Russian military launched 177 drones from several cities in Russia at Ukraine overnight. The Ukrainian Air Force said that 110 drones were shot down over different regions, including Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv.
Another 67 drones disappeared from radar without causing any damage. These drones are often decoys sent by Russia to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defense.
In Donetsk Oblast, Russian forces killed one person and injured 16 others in the village of Krasnotorka. One person was also killed and another injured in different areas of the region.
In Kherson Oblast, Russia targeted 36 settlements, including the regional center of Kherson. As a result, one person was killed and eight others were injured. A 72-year-old woman was also hospitalized after being hit by artillery in Zelenivka village.
The attacks on Ukraine continued across different regions, with reports of Russian forces targeting other areas such as Kharkiv Oblast, Kyiv Oblast, Chernihiv Oblast, Sumy Oblast, and Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
