**New Law Affects NGOs**

The Georgian government has proposed a new law that will change how non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are involved in making decisions. The law is currently being discussed in Parliament.

**Changes to 14 Laws**

The changes affect 14 different laws. These laws require NGOs to be part of the decision-making process. Under the new law, NGOs will no longer have a mandatory role in these processes.

**Examples of Changes**

For example, people who want to join the Prosecutorial Council or the Disciplinary Panel of Judges will not need to be nominated by an NGO. Also, NGOs will no longer help choose the Public Defender of Consumer Interests.

**New Law Aims to Change Rules**

The new law is part of a joint effort between two parties in Parliament: Georgian Dream and People’s Power. The ruling party wants these changes to be applied to all laws that previously required NGO participation.
