Serbian Parliament to Discuss PM’s Resignation

The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) top MP Milenko Jovanov said on Monday that the parliament will most likely take note of Prime Minister Milos Vucevic’s resignation. This is expected to happen during a session scheduled for March 4.

First, ministers will report on talks with universities and how they responded to student demands. Only then will the parliament discuss the prime minister’s resignation. Jovanov said that the current government could continue working even after the prime minister steps down.

The speaker of parliament, Ana Brnabic, said earlier that the session would start by adopting important laws. She also stated that a new government would be chosen instead of holding elections. However, this process might take some time.

Jovanov made it clear that he won’t attend an MP meeting with Tonino Picula, a European Parliament rapporteur, because he has another “important” event planned – sorting his socks by color.
