**EU to Give Ukraine New Money**

The European Union will send 3.5 billion euros ($3.7 billion) to Ukraine in March, said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

She made the announcement on February 24 at a meeting of international supporters of Ukraine in Kyiv. This was during her visit to Ukraine on the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

“This money will help Ukraine,” said von der Leyen. “A new payment of 3.5 billion euros will arrive in March.”

In total, the EU is expected to give Ukraine 35 billion euros ($36 billion) by 2025. This includes a big loan that the G7 countries will provide to Ukraine.

The EU and its member states have already given Ukraine over 134 billion euros ($140 billion) since the war started. This is more than any other country has given.

**Ukraine’s Budget Gap Closed**

Thanks to money from the EU and G7, Ukraine won’t need to borrow money for all of 2025, said von der Leyen. This is good news for Ukraine, which will be able to manage its budget without worrying about borrowing more money.
