**EU Sanctions on Georgia: A Revenge Mode?**
The Chairman of the Parliament’s Committee on Local Self-Government, Irakli Kadagishvili, has responded to a statement made by EU High Representative Kaja Kallas about sanctions. According to him, some European Union bureaucrats are pursuing a counterproductive policy towards Georgia.
**Unfulfilled Goals and Revenge Mode**
Kadagishvili stated that the EU sees Georgia as a country that does not conform to its radical liberal agenda. Despite interference in the electoral campaign, the Georgian people still chose their preferred political force. Now, the EU has moved into a revenge mode due to unfulfilled anti-Georgian goals.
**Double Standards**
Kadagishvili pointed out that when protests turned violent in Georgia, European leaders did not call for peaceful demonstrations. Instead, they encouraged the protesters, saying “We stand with the fighting Georgian people.” In contrast, any foreign politician making a statement about elections in another country is met with an uproar.
**EU’s True Intentions**
Kadagishvili believes that the EU’s policy towards Georgia is not aimed at expansion, but rather to use it as a tool for political purposes. This has led to concerns about the EU’s intentions and the impact on its relations with other countries.
