**Serbia Makes Limited Progress Towards EU Membership**
Tonino Picula, the European Parliament’s rapporteur for Serbia, told the EP Committee on Foreign Affairs that Serbia has made little progress in meeting EU membership requirements. Picula also commented on the recent student protests in Novi Sad, where 15 people died after a train station overhang collapsed. He condemned attacks on students and criticized Serbian authorities for restarting legal proceedings against some of them. The European Parliament is willing to support Serbia in restarting democratic processes related to its EU path. This includes using democracy support tools and initiatives. Picula urged Serbia to take necessary measures to address outstanding issues, such as the 2023 terrorist attack in Banjska, Kosovo.
