**Georgian Politician Responds to Criticism**
Kakha Kaladze, the General Secretary of the “Georgian Dream” party, has spoken out about criticism from the opposition. This comes after U.S. President Donald Trump made comments about Ukraine.
Kaladze said he understands why Trump is focusing on defeating the “Deep State”. He believes this is a big concern for Trump and it’s happening right now. Kaladze compared this situation to radical groups in Georgia, saying they have patrons who are also in trouble.
**Radicalism Will Be Defeated**
Kaladze stated that radicalism will be defeated wherever it exists. He mentioned the war between Russia and Ukraine as a catastrophic situation, with villages destroyed and territories lost. Kaladze said this is not a coincidence, but a pre-planned action.
He also compared Georgia’s situation to Ukraine’s, saying they are both in a difficult place. However, Kaladze emphasized that the ruling team has an obligation to act in the country’s interests.
**Protecting National Interests**
Kaladze pointed out that the opposition wants the ruling team to take actions that would harm the country’s economy. He said it’s not good to follow orders from others without thinking about what is best for the country.
Kaladze also mentioned a difficult time when the Prime Minister and party chairman were being harshly spoken to, trying to force Georgia to join sanctions against Russia. However, Kaladze emphasized that the government will protect its interests.
**Ukraine Situation**
Regarding Ukraine, Kaladze said he doesn’t want to comment on specifics because the country is in a very difficult situation. He expressed sympathy for the Ukrainian people and noted that they consider them friends. However, Kaladze emphasized that Georgia’s pragmatic politics prioritize the country’s own interests.
