**Serbian Government Criticized for Expo 2027 Draft Law**

A group of experts has called on the Serbian government to withdraw its draft law on Expo 2027. The commission, set up in February to investigate the Novi Sad Railway Station tragedy, says the law lowers construction standards and allows corruption.

The commission was formed after a concrete awning collapsed at the entrance to the Novi Sad Railway Station. Experts say the law will jeopardize construction safety and increase corruption.

Retired university law professor Vesna Rakic Vodinelic said the draft law is being considered by the Constitutional Court, but it should be withdrawn. University civil engineering professor Vladan Kuzmanovic also spoke out against the law, saying it doesn’t require an environmental study or a plan to preserve cultural heritage.

Kuzmanovic warned that the law allows facilities to be used without all necessary permits. He and other commission members are calling on the government to withdraw the draft law.
