**Serbians Lack Trust in Police**

A recent survey has shown that more than 70% of Serbians have little or no trust in their police force. Only 6.1% of respondents said they trusted the police.

The survey, conducted by the “Dr Rodolphe Archibald Reiss” Police Association, found that nearly 72% believe politicians have full control over the police’s operations. This has led to concerns about political influence and corruption within the force.

**Key Findings**

* 37.8% of citizens think the police primarily protect the interests of the Serbian Government
* 9.4% of those surveyed believe the police only protect the interests of their top officials
* 55.6% of respondents said the police act professionally only at times
* 74.7% perceive corruption among police officers as a major problem
* 67.4% assess cooperation between the police and citizens as poor or very poor

The survey was conducted on a representative sample of people from different backgrounds, including gender, age group, and educational level.
