**Georgian Politician Criticizes EU Ambassador**
Kakha Kaladze, General Secretary of the “Georgian Dream” party, has spoken out against comments made by Pawel Herczyński, the EU Ambassador to Georgia. Kaladze said that Herczyński’s statements are “shameful” and show that he is being told what to say from outside.
Kaladze accused Herczyński of repeating false information like a parrot. He pointed out that there are many opposition TV stations in Georgia, which suggests that the media environment is not as bad as Herczyński claimed.
**Freedom of Expression in Georgia**
Kaladze emphasized that freedom of expression and speech are protected in Georgia. He said that this freedom can sometimes be misused by certain media outlets to spread defamation and insults.
**Supporting a Hunger Striking Prisoner**
Kaladze also criticized Herczyński for not urging Mzia Amaghlobeli, the founder of “Batumelebi” and “Netgazeti,” to stop her hunger strike. Instead, Kaladze said that Herczyński is encouraging the process, which could worsen Amaghlobeli’s health condition.
**Comments Made at EU Event**
Herczyński made his comments at a European Union event, where he stated that there are attempts to silence opposing voices in Georgia. He also called for the immediate release of Mzia Amaghlobeli.
