According to Berdia Sichinava, Executive Secretary of the Gakharia For Georgia party, Ivanishvili’s actions are driven by a deep-seated hatred for Gakharia. Sichinava claims that Ivanishvili knows he has personally betrayed Georgia and is now trying to silence him.
**Munich Security Conference**
The recent Munich Security Conference was a major blow to Ivanishvili’s ego. For the first time this year, not a single official from Georgia was invited. Instead, Giorgi Gakharia and Salome Zurabishvili represented the interests of the Georgian people. This snub has clearly gotten under Ivanishvili’s skin.
**Aggression at Tbilisi Airport**
Gakharia and his team were met with aggression when they returned from the conference. A pre-prepared group of people, allegedly acting in coordination with the special services, confronted them at Tbilisi International Airport. The police on site did nothing to intervene, further fueling accusations that they are now beholden to Ivanishvili.
**Consequences for Ivanishvili**
Sichinava is confident that Ivanishvili will soon face the consequences of his actions. “Ivanishvili will definitely experience the results of the Munich Security Conference on himself,” he said. Sichinava believes that Ivanishvili’s grip on power and money is slipping, and that the Georgian people will ultimately prevail.
