Journalist Mzia Amaghlobeli Still on Hunger Strike
Mzia Amaghlobeli, a journalist on hunger strike for 35 days, sent a letter from the “Vivamedi” clinic to protesters and the public. Her words were read during a demonstration on Rustaveli Avenue.
In her letter, Amaghlobeli urges people to fight for their rights. She emphasizes that freedom is more valuable than life and that people must be brave in supporting each other.
The journalist was arrested due to repressive actions against freedom of speech and human rights. She believes the government wants to silence her and control the country. Amaghlobeli calls on citizens who want a democratic Georgia free from Russian influence to join her fight.
She says, “Fight before it’s too late.” Amaghlobeli encourages people to take action wherever they are – inside or outside of the country, in cities or villages, in schools or workplaces. She urges them to protect and support each other.
