**Serbian Students Arrive in Kragujevac for Big Protest**
On Friday, the city of Kragujevac welcomed students who had been walking to the city all week. They were coming to join a big protest on Saturday.
The students are upset about what’s happening in Serbia and want people to know that they care. On Saturday, they will block one of the city’s main roads for 15 hours. This is because February 15th is an important day in Serbia – it’s when the country celebrates its Statehood Day and also marks the anniversary of a special event called Candlemas (Sretenje).
Many students walked to Kragujevac from nearby towns, while some came by bike from Belgrade and Novi Sad. One group even ran a relay race from Belgrade to Kragujevac.
**Protests Happen Everywhere in Serbia**
On Friday, people all over Serbia held protests. In the city of Nis, students and residents blocked an important intersection. They then went to a school administration building, where they chanted “We want justice!”
At another protest in Zrenjanin, someone told the crowd that they were heroes and their parents should be proud of them.
In Belgrade, high school students gathered in the city center and marched to a government office building. They held a moment of silence for people who died in a tragic accident in Novi Sad.
**The Country Mourns**
On Saturday morning, everyone across Serbia took 15 minutes to remember the victims of that accident. The tragedy happened on November 1st, when a roof collapsed at a train station. Many people are still upset and want something to change.
This is why there have been so many protests lately in Serbia. Students, teachers, and ordinary people all feel that they deserve better treatment.
