**Georgian Citizens Detained by Tskhinvali Forces**
A meeting was held on February 14 in Ergneti, near the occupied region of South Ossetia. The main topic of discussion was the release of Georgian citizens being held illegally by the occupying forces.
There are currently six Georgians being held by the Tskhinvali forces. Two of them were recently sentenced to prison for 2 years and 6 months. One man, Giorgi Mosiashvili, has been in prison for a long time. He was arrested in 2023 on charges of poaching and crossing the border.
The meeting also discussed the issue of “borderization”, where the Tskhinvali forces are building roads and barriers to divide Georgian territory. Since November 2024, there have been 11 cases of borderization reported in two Georgian municipalities. This is a serious concern for the country.
The next meeting will be held on April 3. The issue of releasing detained Georgians and stopping borderization will likely continue to be discussed.
